2.经济压力-没有工作没有收入，只能依赖养老金。但是物价不断上涨（rising prices of items including food and other household goods ）增加了生活成本（push the cost of living up），养老金收入跟不上脚步（fail to keep pace）

 对于社会 

1.导致政府经济压力-老年人寿命变长-政府需要支付更多的养老金（pension）

2.资源压力-医疗资源压力（put pressure on public resources, especially medical resources）-正如所提及年纪越大越容易生病，一生病需要治疗。

These days, many elderly people are living longer into their retirement. The following essay will discuss the associated problems that arise with this trend, and possible solutions to alleviate any serious impacts it is causing.

There are several problems that may arise when elderly people live longer after they retire. Firstly, a larger portion of old people living longer will have an adverse impact on the economy of a country. In other words, it leads to fiscal shortage. It is a fact that people who are retired require financial assistance from the government to sustain themselves for the course of their retirement. The longer people live, the more pension governments have to pay for and finally the more restricted national budget is. Secondly, as people get older, they have to encounter the financial problem. Although they will receive the pension monthly, their wages fail to keep pace with the inflation. Due to the dire economic situation, rising prices of items including food and other household goods pushes the cost of living up. Old people who have limited pensions hardly afford the increasing living expenses.

Accordingly, there are several solutions that can be implemented in order to help deal with such issues. These days, in many developed countries, employers are required to make financial contributions to retirement funds on behalf of their employees. These funds help to sustain elderly people throughout their retirement without placing a burden on government budgets. Furthermore, if people are living longer after retirement, then it may mean that they are healthy enough to continue working longer and that governments can increase the retirement age, or allow partial pension payments so that the elderly can continue working part-time if they choose.

In conclusion, although people are living longer after retirement nowadays, there are several solutions that can be implemented to reduce the impacts that this trend is having on the economy.
